Wythenshawe Community Rugby Club
Wythenshawe Community Rugby Club was established in November 2015 with a simple but powerful mission: to bring rugby to the people of Wythenshawe. Built on the belief that rugby is more than just a sport, the club was founded to create opportunities for local people to experience the discipline, respect, teamwork, camaraderie, and strong social bonds that come with being part of the rugby family.
Since its formation, the club has made significant progress both on and off the field. What began as a community-driven vision has grown into a thriving grassroots organisation, now proudly based at Painswick Park — the heart of Wythenshawe — where it boasts two full-size rugby pitches and modern changing facilities.
Wythenshawe Community Rugby Club offers opportunities for all ages and abilities. From Minis and Juniors developing their skills and confidence, to Walking Rugby providing an inclusive way to stay active, and a competitive Senior Team representing the club with pride, there is a place for everyone within the club.
Rooted in community spirit and driven by passion, Wythenshawe Community Rugby Club continues to grow, inspire, and strengthen its community — both on the pitch and beyond.
