Stay Wild Crochet

Stay Wild started long before it had a name.

I’m Olivia Gibson, based in Abingdon, and crochet has been part of my life since I was little. My Great Nan taught me. She was amazing — she didn’t follow patterns, she created her own. Quietly, confidently, just making things the way she believed they should be made.

I didn’t realise how much that had shaped me until years later. My Nan once asked me for the pattern to a bag I’d made. I told her I hadn’t used one — I’d just made it up.

She smiled and said, “You’re just like Nanny Pop.”

That moment stayed with me.

She passed away before she could see what I’ve built with the skills she gave me. But now I understand — it was never just about crochet. It was about trusting your ideas. Creating your own way. Backing yourself.

I love making bags. That’s where Stay Wild truly began. Practical, throw-everything-in, take-them-everywhere bags. Designed by instinct. Made by hand.

This is my passion project.

Every stitch carries a little piece of her.
