Bowel Disease Research Foundation
We are the subsidiary charity of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) who are the representative body of leading medical practitioners working in the field of bowel disease.
The charity has been in existence since 1997 and has invested over £2.5 million into research projects that have improved treatments and helped set up national guidelines for medical practice in the UK.
Many of our projects are precursors to larger scale medical research studies and thus play a crucial role in developing the necessary science and innovation to cultivate funding from the larger charities and funding organisations.
Most recently we have devised The Delphi Project which brought together surgeons, consultants, physicians and patients to establish the top 25 priority areas in bowel disease.
We are now devising research to start answering those questions to help ensure the greatest impact for patients suffering from these painful and life-limiting conditions.
