I am a member of Brunel Business School with special interests in emotional labour, practice development, and, with Kate Darlington, in the long-term ritual origins of local authority (legitimate power). I have worked with Kent Constabulary, the Royal College of Nursing, the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, the air-transport section of the International Transport Workers’ Federation and with a number of local authorities and health trusts. It is one thing to theorise why things go wrong, but an altogether different challenge to figure-out ways to enable them to work differently and perhaps better in practice. This is why I am so interested in Yuemei's approach.
