Ukrainian Club of Moncton
About us
Ukrainian Association of Moncton, also known as Ukrainian Club of Moncton, is a non-profit organization established in 1975 with over 500 active members as of September 2023. Primary mission was preservation and promotion of Ukrainian culture in Greater Moncton through educational initiatives, community gatherings and cultural events.
After February 2022
In response to the full-scale war in Ukraine started by Russia in February 2022, the focus of the organisation and efforts of its members has been shifted towards the support of the Ukrainians affected by the war. Fundraising events created a great opportunity for the club members to help Ukrainian defenders and civilians, providing them with lifesaving medication and other essential supplies. Ukrainian Association also has been actively advocating for the needs and interests of Ukrainians fleeing from the war to the Greater Moncton area, providing them with community support and important information upon arrival. In collaboration with other impactful organisations and individuals, many useful webinars, workshops, language lessons, networking events, and employment fairs were organised to help newcomers to adapt quickly, find jobs and become valuable members of the New Brunswick community.
In April 2022, Association proudly established Ukrainian Hub in downtown Moncton. It has become a thriving cultural center with Ukrainian school, after-school activities, art classes, sport sessions, and information sessions. “The Hub” now serves as a main collecting point for clothing, household items and furniture generously donated by the community members.
