Net Zero Centre in NMES
We are creating a world-leading centre of excellence in the science and technologies, underpinning solutions for decarbonising our economy and society and for addressing key environmental issues.
The Centre’s mission is to foster an interdisciplinary environment to provide a focal point for King’s science and engineering research in net zero. It promotes a whole systems approach to these challenges, drawing upon the faculties and disciplines across King’s to work toward delivering solutions that work in practice in our world.
The Net Zero Centre serves to highlight, nurture and facilitate discovery and applied research to address the challenges for decarbonising our society and reducing the environmental impact of our manufacturing, infrastructure, and cities. Based in the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences (NMES), the Centre works across the boundaries of disciplines at King’s from geography and business to law and social science to deliver solutions for sustainable development. The Centre fosters the next generation of King’s change-makers by educating scientists and engineers on the holistic context of these challenges and developing technologically aware social scientists, lawyers, and policy makers.
