BDA Obesity Specialist Group

Aim

The BDA Obesity specialist group represents dietitians working in adult and childhood obesity prevention and management, recognising obesity as being a specialist area of dietetic practice. 

The Obesity specialist group  works to communicate evidence-based standards, support post-registration training in obesity management, contribute to national guidelines, campaign for health improvement, and to develop and foster a network of obesity management professionals.

Any BDA member can become a member of the Obesity specialist group. Members are kept up-to-date with committee activities via bulletins issued following committee meetings and regular newsletters.  Members are encouraged to join our LinkedIn network to have the opportunity to contribute to national consultations and other ongoing projects as well as the potential to make a more direct impact via volunteering for active committee positions.
