Brick Adventures
Hi, I’m Sarah and the creator of Brick Adventures for Didcot Railway Centre.
Didcot Railway Centre has been part of my life, all of my life. My dad was here when I was born, so it was natural that I would follow in this footsteps and develop a love of railways.
However as a child, he always resisted buying me a train set (I always thought that was odd!!), so when my mum decided I should have a Lego® version, he caved and I was hooked! Those 1970’s sets still exist (in their boxes) and I am as passionate about railways and Lego® as I was as a child!
I am proud to be an active volunteer at Didcot and run some of their events, Brick Adventures being one of them!
In 2023, I held the first show at Didcot and invited exhibitors from all over the country to come and show their creations. I also knew that I wanted something different and unique and together with The Brick People, we worked on a few models of our own engines and rolling stock. We introduced 3 models, our saddle tank, a wagon and a coach, all in miniature.
They were so successful in 2024, I introduced 4 more, a tender engine, a toad, an oil tanker and a station building. For our event this year, I have 3 more designs to add to the collection – a railcar, a crocodile and an 08 diesel shunter with more to be added as time goes on!
Often you’ll find me at the railway centre either running an event and of late, I’m training to drive our diesel railcar, so do come and say hello if you like my designs or just want to talk Lego® or railways!
I also exhibit at Lego® shows across the country, you’ll find a list of where further down the page.
