In 2004, Gregg Davis, also known as "DJ Self Born," relocated to Miami from Chicago's south side. Driven by an unwavering determination to become a globally adored DJ, this is where his remarkable journey commences. Spinning his beats far and wide, DJ Self Born swiftly cemented his status as a prominent figure in the vibrant South Beach nightlife scene.
In 2006, alongside his friend Mark G, the proprietor of Good Vibes Ent., DJ Self Born embarked on an incredible venture – hosting a legendary weekly event called Classic Sundays at Love/Hate. This remarkable party spanned seven years, becoming the stuff of legend. After an impressive 208 Sundays and four years, DJ Self Born assumed ownership of Love/Hate, elevating it into the world's first "DJ Bar." With notable guests like Will Smith, Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade and Dwayne Martin, Classic Sundays at Love/Hate grew to be an internationally recognized must-attend event whenever one found themselves in Miami.
Beyond his exceptional DJing prowess, DJ Self Born is a true polymath in the world of music. A gifted music producer and the visionary behind the iconic Love/Hate DJ Bar, which has now evolved into a dynamic "pop-up" experience, his influence has reverberated far and wide within the music industry. Hailing from Chicago's Southside, this singular talent has mastered the art of DJing across all arenas – from radio and nightclubs to corporate and private gatherings.

The year 2012 brought an exciting opportunity as DJ Self Born was selected as the official DJ for Smirnoff's & VH1's DJ reality show competition, "Master Of The Mix." Moreover, his entertainment company, Self Born Music, was entrusted with filling the room with enthusiastic audiences for each taping.
That same year DJ Self Born was featured in the October 8th issue of Jet Magazine as a DJ that turned his talent into a franchise idea, The DJ Bar.
In 2013, DJ Self Born curated the musical backdrop for the NFL Hall of Fame induction of his close friend Warren Sapp in Canton, OH, setting the stage for a truly memorable celebration.
The year 2017 witnessed DJ Self Born's collaboration with American Airlines, where he was designated as the official DJ for the annual ABFF (American Black Film Festival) gatherings. His curated soundscapes added to the vibrant atmosphere of the American Airlines Lounge, a highlight of the event.
In 2020 DJ Self Born was recruited by the legendary Chicago group and old friends, Abstract Mindstate. DJ Self Born worked with Kanye West to produce their album “Dreams Still Inspire”. Kanye produced all of the tracks and DJ Self Born provided all of the scratches. Abstract Mindstate and DJ Self Born have toured the country showcasing the latest production work done exclusively by Kanye West.
DJ Self Born's versatility is unparalleled, seamlessly transitioning between music genres from Frank Sinatra to Jay-Z. His stage presence, combined with his ability to harmonize with artists, solidifies his role as an exceptional tour DJ and host.
Beyond his extensive collaborations, DJ Self Born has also unveiled a series of innovative projects. These include "Heaven Is A Studio, God Is A DJ," "Bigger Than Rap Music," "Rich Plug, Poor Plug," "The Sky-Cave Kid Superhero Adventures," and "I'm Not O.C.D., Everything Just Has To Be Perfect." His latest endeavor, "A Ride With Chev Chelios," is a fusion of pulsating beats and captivating melodies, drawing inspiration from the high-energy movie "Crank."
Fast forward to 2023, and DJ Self Born, along with his longtime business partner Greg "Olskool Ice-Gre" Lewis, introduces the world to "It’s A Cool Day." This dynamic duo, composed of Chicago talents Craig Lowe (The C.o.o.l) and Derion Scroggins (Day Underscore), blend the worlds of Rap and R&B, creating an immersive musical experience that resonates with authenticity and honesty.
