Edinburgh Photographic Society
Edinburgh Photographic Society (EPS) is one of the oldest Photographic Societies in the world having been formed in 1861 in the pioneering days of photography. We are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation and are the largest Photographic Society in Scotland with an active membership of more than 200. EPS organises and plays host to the annual Edinburgh International Salon of Photography. The salon attracts thousands of entries from all over the world and the small percentage of prints chosen for the annual Exhibition are displayed in the Society's premises to visitors from all over the world during the Edinburgh International Festivals in August. EPS invites speakers throughout the year to talk to its members on a broad range of photographic and related topics. EPS runs a series of other events including hosting Exhibitions from the London Salon, The Royal Photographic Society and its own Members' Exhibition. We run competitions internally for members and compete externally as a Society both nationally and internationally. We have several other activities and special interest sub-groups.
