EQUAL

EQUAL is an independent advisory group set up to address the disproportionality of black and Muslim men in the criminal justice system. We believe that action must be taken to address the issues that lead to unjust experiences and outcomes for BAME people in the criminal justice system.

Our purpose is to help those involved in the development and delivery of criminal justice practice and policy to create a system free from unfair outcomes for BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) people. We are specifically focusing on: Stop and Search, youth justice and the policing of BAME young people, and prisons and probation.
