Dr. Gemma Handelsman is an experienced Chartered Educational Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, based in North West London.
Gemma has an undergraduate psychology degree from the University of Cambridge and a Doctorate in Child, Community, and Educational Psychology from The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
She has over 12 years of experience as an Educational Psychologist and set up Handelsman Psychology over two years ago to allow herself more flexible working with her young family. Gemma previously worked as a Senior Educational Psychologist for a large local authority and as the Educational Psychologist within a therapy team at a primary special school, supporting children with social communication difficulties and autism.
Gemma provides Educational Psychology assessments and advice to support a child or young person’s learning, well-being, and behaviour. She works with children and young people aged 3-18 years old who attend mainstream or specialist schools or nurseries, working collaboratively with their families and school staff to ensure the best outcomes.
Gemma offers direct work to nurseries and schools, providing consultations, training and supervision to school staff, enabling change at an organisational level.
Gemma has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent children and young people. She is trained to use the ADOS-2 assessment and occasionally works as an associate for a private clinic offering multi-disciplinary autism assessments.
Gemma is a mother of three young children and a co-opted Governor at a local primary school.

Hannah is an independent Educational Psychologist, experienced in working with children from preschool to adolescence in a variety of educational settings, including mainstream, independent, specialist and additionally resourced provisions. Hannah qualified as an Educational Psychologist, with distinction, at the Institute of Education in 2006. She began her career working within local authorities, including as part of a Corporate Parenting Team, with the remit of raising the educational achievement of children in care. She has also co-ordinated a local authority Anti-Bullying Strategy. Hannah lives in Hertfordshire with her husband, two teenage children and the family dog, Mirabel.
Prior to training as an Educational Psychologist, Hannah was a Reception Teacher. On a voluntary basis she was previously a Youth Worker, Childline Counsellor, Trustee for the NSPCC, online Advisor for the charity Scope and Playgroup Leader. She has also volunteered as a Governor for a primary school and refugee sponsor.
Hannah typically works with families and schools in Hertfordshire, North West London, and parts of Essex, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, but also welcomes national and international clients. She provides assessments for understanding children's learning, behaviour and development, making recommendations for how young people can be supported to make progress and thrive in education. Hannah also facilitates work experience for Assistant Educational Psychologists, and offers training and consultancy services for education settings, families, charities, businesses and extra-curricular organisations.
Hannah's professional interests include tics/Tourettes, dyscalculia, giftedness/higher learning potential, diabetes, ADHD and bereavement.
