Helston Climate Action Group

Helston Climate Action Group (HCAG) is made up of volunteers from the local community.

In March 2019, Helston Town Council declared a climate emergency, pledging (among other measures) to help the town reach carbon neutrality by 2030.

To help achieve this, Helston Climate Action Group (HCAG) was formed and together wrote the Helston Climate Action Plan, which was published in September 2019 and endorsed by Helston Town Council.

The plan’s aims are to:

  • reduce carbon emissions,
  • support nature restoration,
  • build resilience
  • encourage localism.

Several projects from the Climate Action Plan are already being delivered, including:

  • Helston Repair Café
  • Helston Climate Café
  • Helston Community Larder
  • Incredible Edible Helston
  • Forest for Helston
