Knights Templar of England & Wales
ABOUT US
We are the Autonomous Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem Grand Priory of England and Wales, more commonly known as the Knights Templar of England and Wales.
WHO WE ARE
Members have the opportunity to meet at a national assembly held once a year in varying parts of England and Wales.
This constitutes a general meeting, a church service including the admission of postulants, and investitures of Knights and Dames followed by a ceremonial dinner.
On formal occasions such as this the Knights and Dames are attired in white mantles bearing the red Templar cross on the left side. They also wear regalia appropriate to their rank. The one with the highest rank is the Grand Prior.
There is a succession of ranks through which some members rise, according to individual commitment, dedication and service to the order. Namely Knight or Dame Officer, Commander, Grand Officer and Grand Cross. Promotions are not sought….they are conferred.

INDIVIDUALS IN NEED
Alongside our main charities above we are proud to also support those in need within our various local communities throughout England and Wales. For example; we have helped to buy a wedding dress after it was lost in a major flood, donated money towards replacing a church roof, and held coffee mornings to aid Macmillan. There are no restrictions to who our members can request help for.
