Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Devon
In 2022 the Health and Care Act introduced the legal requirement for all Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered health and social care service providers to provide employees with awareness training on learning disability and autism.
In Devon, the Integrated Care System (ICS) oversees the delivery of Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism (OMMT) to NHS staff and connected organisations. We are rolling out delivery of the Tier 1 online and Tier 2 classroom-based interactive sessions from April 2024 onwards. This is expected to be a 3-year programme to cover the estimated 100,000 NHS-eligible workforce across the county.
Living Options Devon is NHS Devon's approved OMMT delivery partner, responsible for the recruitment, training and management of the Trios of OMMT Trainers (each session will be delivered by a Facilitator, plus two Co-Trainer Experts by Experience - one an autistic person, the other a person with learning disabilities).
IMPORTANT NOTE: We are currently using Eventbrite to promote the dates and availability of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training sessions. The event page will contain a link that you need to follow to make the booking. A bespoke online booking platform is currently be developed and a link will be available once this is completed (expected summer 2024).
