RAR–RAP: Rock Against Racism Research ’n' Archive Project

The RAR–RAP: Rock Against Racism Research ’n' Archive Project was set up in 2017 by members of the original RAR Collective (1978-1982): Andy Dark, Kate Webb (aka Irate Kate), Lucy Whitman (aka Lucy Toothpaste), Robert Galvin, Ruth Gregory and Wayne Minter. We aim to celebrate the unique achievements of Rock Against Racism by building an interactive RAR website; gathering material for the RAR Archive (to be donated to the British Library); cataloguing all the bands who played for RAR, and the RAR gigs and carnivals that took place throughout the UK and across the globe; providing information for activists, researchers and academics; and supporting new projects devoted to, or inspired by, Rock Against Racism.
