Research and Cultural Collections

Please note: In order to minimise the risk to staff, students and our wider community, the University of Birmingham campus has moved to restricted operations. During this time University staff will be working remotely and the majority of buildings and facilities within the campus will be closed.  This means that our current John Walker exhibition and our wider collections displays will not be accessible to the public until further notice. The team are currently looking at content we can create to make our fantastic collections accessible online in these difficult times.

For further information on the University's response to COVID-19, please visit: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/coronavirus/index.aspx

From Egyptian shabti figures to 19th-century medical waxes, 1960s art to West African masks, the University of Birmingham's Research and Cultural Collections hosts a vast range of extraordinary artefacts that play a valuable role in campus life and in wider communities.

You can discover these artefacts through lunchtime tours, object handling sessions and family workshops.
