SG's Resilient Communities Team
The SG's Resilient Communities Team works with partners across Government and civil society to build whole society resilience to emergency situations with the aim
"Communities, individuals and organisations harnessing resources and expertise to help themselves assess and understand risk, take appropriate measures to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies, in a way that complements the work of the emergency responders."
For over 10 years, the Resilient Communities Team have hosted a national annual conference in which a wide range of people can meet, discuss and share experience about developing, supporting and sustaining resilient communities in Scotland.
As Covid-19 continues to put pressure on hosting live events, the team – in agreement with the VSRP - decided to host a series of online events for 2021 which would provide that opportunity for a diverse cross section of individuals, groups and organisations to come together and share their lessons and discuss good practice from their experience of the pandemic, as well as learning about a few key topics relevant to their community resilience roles.
The workshop topics have evolved out of practical lessons and research as well as direction from VSRP and VCS RAG members. These events are not publicly accessible, but you can book using the following links
