Sinai Park House
Sinai Park House is a Grade II* listed timber-framed building dating from the 1300s situated within a 13th century hilltop moat. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is surrounded by a historic deer park. Used for recuperation by the monks of Burton Abbey from the 14th century and later by the wealthy Paget family as a hunting lodge, the site includes a range of timber-framed buildings, a moat, a Jacobean bridge and a Georgian plunge pool. The plunge pool is fed by an ancient Chalybeate spring and was built to enable the full enjoyment and restorative powers of the waters.
