SOAS Festival of Ideas

This year we dedicate the SOAS festival of ideas to ‘thinking through music’. We’ve put together a programme of events & gathered an amazing list of guests to entertain, inform & educate you on a wide range of issues, from the value of the jam session in jazz to how to decolonise music education, diasporic music in London to the connections between music, dance, film and visual arts. From hands-on workshops to a live podcast recording, specialist panels to a DJ summit, and intimate discussions with music theorists & music makers, we think there’s something for everyone & there will be parties too.
