St Bartholomew's Hospital Charitable Fund
St Bartholomew’s Hospital Charitable Fund was formed through the merger of two longstanding organisations: the St Bartholomew’s Hospital Voluntary Board and the Rahere Association.
The Fund is dedicated to supporting NHS care at Barts by providing grants that directly benefit staff, equipment, and patient services.
The Rahere Association, established in 1953 and named after the hospital’s founder, the priest Rahere (who founded the Church and Hospital in 1123), has long been devoted to the welfare of patients and staff at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
Similarly, the St Bartholomew’s Hospital Voluntary Board was an independent charity focused solely on helping patients and staff at Barts. Staying true to Rahere’s original vision, it prioritised support for the local community, especially those in need during times of illness or incapacity.
Together, these organisations continue Rahere’s legacy by providing vital assistance to improve care and wellbeing at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
