Tantie Lorraine's
I am a Trinidadian, born and bred in the sleepy country village of Mayaro on Trinidad's eastern coast. Being a country girl at heart, I have been involved in cooking and baking from an early age ably taught by my grandmother (who was an excellent cook). I moved to the UK aged 9 to join my mother and siblings and continued my food education under my mother's watchful eye.
Although I have not been formally trained I believe my over 40 years cooking and inventing combinations are equivalent to a degree.
I run a business selling my homemade award winning sauces and chili jams, from my base in Surrey.
I now host Caribbean Cooking classes to educate about the many facets of traditional Caribbean cuisine as an alternative to the traditional takeaway.
