University of Leicester Library

The University of Leicester Library enriches the intellectual and creative life of our communities by facilitating information discovery and the creation and dissemination of research. We offer a user-centred library service, designed in collaboration with our communities.

Our Archives and Special Collections contain unique literary and historic collections that are of international, national and regional significance, including the Joe Orton Collection, Sue Townsend Archive, University of Leicester Archive and over 20,000 rare books and manuscripts.

We organise events that promote engagement with our collections, reading for pleasure, and the history and heritage of the University of Leicester.
