UWL Peer Mentoring Service

The UWL Peer Mentoring Service is an opportunity for you to build your skills and boost your confidence. Whether you want to receive the support of a Peer Mentor or volunteer to be a Peer Mentor, you can get involved.

Peer Mentoring is an opportunity for you to be paired with a student who has completed a year of study on a similar course to you. By sharing their experience of UWL and their course, a mentor can help you gain a greater understanding of what is required and give you a clearer insight into what lies ahead.

Pairing Options:

  • Traditional Mentoring: Paired on similar course and level of study
  • Wellbeing Mentoring: Paired based on a recognised wellbeing need
  • International Mentoring: Paired with another student who has travelled to the UK to study
  • Final Year Mentoring: Paired as a final year student with a UWL graduate

Where possible, there are other shared lived experiences that can be considered during the paring process such as age, gender, ethnicity and parental status. Students are able to make these requests whilst registering or applying to be a part of the Peer Mentoring Scheme.
