Description
Acclaimed author and journalist Simon Jenkins has travelled the length and breadth of Great Britain, from Waterloo to Wemyss Bay, Betws-y-Coed to Beverley, to select his hundred favourite railway stations. His journey is documented in a beautiful new book Britain’s Hundred Best Railway Stations, published this September by Penguin.
For this event Jenkins will take us on a tour of these unique places, illuminating their special place in the national imagination and their oft-neglected architectural splendour.
As founder of the Railway Heritage Trust and former Chairman of the National Trust he is the perfect guide.
Venue: The Great Hall, Dulwich College
Price: £12 or £35 including a copy of Britain’s 100 Best Railway Stations (RRP £25)
