Deep Time Walk
Join this Deep Time Walk, a transformative journey through 4.6 billion years of Earth history via a 4.6km guided walk in the Chilterns!
The experience is an invitation to view the world differently and encourage positive action to address the climate and biodiversity emergencies.
As you walk (with each metre representing 1 million years!), you'll hear fascinating facts about our amazing planet; experience awe about how life emerged and we came to call Earth our home; and reflect on the role we humans play today.
I can't wait to meet you as we go on this powerful journey together.
PRACTICALITIES
Meeting point: Ferry Lane carpark, at the riverside end of Ferry Lane.
The walk itself: You'll need to be comfortable walking a total of about 7km (4.5 miles), on uneven, muddy and sometimes steep ground. The pace will be steady, with lots of stopping. Wear appropriate shoes and clothes for the terrain and weather.
Refreshments: We will have a stop at a cafe partway round, where you can purchase hot drinks and snacks. Optional drinks at the pub at the end for those who want to stay and chat.
Toilets: There are toilets at 2 places midway through the walk.
Getting there: Henley Station is a 15 minute taxi ride away. Ferry Lane carpark is free.
