Do sessions run in all weathers?

Accepted Answer

Sessions go ahead in most weathers, including light rain. They will be postponed or cancelled if the Met Office issues a yellow, amber, or red weather warning.  If this happens, you will be offered space on another session, a credit for another session or a full refund.

Question 2

What if I choose not to attend because of the weather, when there is no weather warning?

If the session is still going ahead, the standard cancellation policy applies i.e if you cancel up to four days ahead of the session you receive a refund, credit or a place on another session.  If you have left it any later, you will not be entitled to a refund, credit or alternative space.

Question 3

Do I need a certain level of fitness?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  Although forest bathing is not hiking, and will involve some sitting and standing you do need to be able to walk for the entirety of the session.  This includes walking for 5-10 minutes uphill as we start the session.  The terrain will include uneven ground, tree roots and probably mud.

Are there toilets at the session location?

No.  For the walks on Corstorphine Hill, the nearest toilets will be at the Leonardo Hotel.

Question 5

What should I wear or bring?

More information is available on our website, and we will email you with some advice on what to bring, but you should dress for the weather with layers, probably waterproofs, sturdy footwear, and something waterproof to sit on.

What safety measures do Guides follow?

Guides carry first aid equipment and are trained in First Aid for outdoor activities.  They conduct risk assessments ahead of the sessions and give a safety briefing at the start. They will also have details of health issues you have shared with us, and the phone number of your emergency contact.

Question 7

Will we receive all this practical information after we book?

Accepted Answer

Yes - after booking, a Waiver and Consent form will be emailed to you. It includes safety and practical information.  Everyone must agree to the terms and return the form at least 4 days before their session.  If not able to sign, a refund will be issued -as long as it is 4 days before the session
