Machine Knitting Beginners' Technique Workshop
Pick a project to develop your techniques for single bed knitting machines. Options include, ribs, shaping and textures.
The session is aimed at early-stage beginners who have tried out machine knitting are looking to expand their range of techniques. The format is flexible and relaxed. Classes are limited to two students per session. So, you can be sure of individual attention.
In this three hour workshop you choose a project that gives you practice in a particular skill. If each student picks the same project we may have deeper dive into the topic. If they pick a different project you will both discover a little of the other's choice of technique.
- HAT - explore rib stitches and folded hems that can be used at the bottom edge of many projects.
- TRIANGLE SCARF - practice increasing and decreasing on the edge of your knitting.
- WRIST WARMERS - make textured stitches using cables or tuck stitch.
You can choose your project on the day.
I will provide a choice of yarns in Scottish wool. If you prefer to use your own then bring 100g of Aran weight yarn.
