As work moves forward at Birkenhead Market’s new home at 1 Princes Pavement, contractor Seddon Construction is inviting local businesses to apply for contracts to support the delivery of the project.
Seddon are hosting a drop in event on Tuesday 6th May between 1 – 3pm at Egerton House in Birkenhead, giving local companies the opportunity to learn more about the contracts available as construction on the new market gets underway. Packages available to bid for will include a wide range of work taking place across the project, from bricklaying and blockwork, joinery, plastering and tiling to cleaning, mastic, floor covering providers, decoration and signage suppliers.
As well as providing details of available contracts, the event will also offer advice and support to those in Wirral’s construction supply chain on the relevant approvals and accreditations required to be able to apply for tenders, training and skills development, and overarching business development support.
The event is being hosted by Seddon Construction, who were appointed last month to carry out pre-construction services to move forward the refurbishment of the unit at 1 Princes Pavement next to the bus station and provide a new Market Hall for Birkenhead.
Other partners attending include:
· CITB – the training board for the construction sector, who help the industry attract talent and develop training systems to upskill the next generation of workers
· Constructionline – a platform connecting construction buyers and local suppliers, giving procurement teams access to accredited and approved suppliers, and in turn, ensuring local suppliers have access to a much broader range of projects in their local area
· Wirral Chamber of Commerce – the leading business membership organisation in Wirral, supporting local businesses to grow for the benefit of the community.
