<h3>4 June 2026</h3> Title: Speech and Language Therapy Management of Babies and Children with Tracheoesophageal Fistula or Oesophageal AtresiaPresenter 1: Maya AsirPresenter 2: Laura BairdObjective: To understand the impact on swallowing and feeding over time. To understand the role of the speech and language therapist. To understand the use of clinical and instrumental swallow assessments and therapy approaches with particular reference to clinical and instrumental swallow assessment and the swallow physiology over time.Blurb: Babies and children with a diagnosis of tracheoseophageal fistula or tracheal atresia undergo repair and may require ongoing procedures. Their swallow is impacted at multiple levels and they are at increased risk of respiratory and quality of life sequalea. The problems they encounter with feeding and swallowing impact on developmental feeding milestones and are a cause of anxiety to parents/ carers.
